Shark Trust in Bimini Victory.

Thanks to the efforts of the Shark Trust, a marine protected area has been established in the North Sound of Bimini. Some of the unspoilt habitats had already been destroyed by The Bimini Bay Resort and Casino who had plans to build an entire marina complex complete with golf course! Should the development had been allowed to continue the final results would have results would have been catastrophic. At a time when so many species are becoming endangered it has restored my faith that compaigning can help to protect them. Well done to all those determined individuals who will certainly have made a difference. Species such as lemon sharks, various rays, loggerhead and hawksbill turtles, bottlenose and atlantic spotted dolphins are now in with a chance of increasing their numbers.
