I am looking at going to the Maldives April/May next year and was wondering what Dive Company or travel agent you had used to book your holiday or were planning to use.

Who offers the best deals and of course the best bargain’s.

I’ve just booked a week on Nautilus II in January with Tony Backhurst. Can’t wait! My friends have done the same trip and said it’s fantastic. Fingers crossed for whale sharks!

I have finally got a holiday booked after spending what seemed like forever looking at a million web pages examining all options and locations all over the world.

I am going to the maldives on the 14th September for 10 days. Decided on the island of Meedhupparu in the end so plenty of sun and sand and great diving. I will make sure I take plenty of pics above and below the water to post on the site when I get back as well as a full review.

The trip was booked through Virgin holidays and travel insurance sorted with Essential travel who as usual offered a competitive price for all the cover i wanted including scuba.

Just cant wait to head off now I even have all my dive gear packed ready so only a few T shirts and shorts to throw in then I can leave.

Were Virgin good value?

Hopefully you’ll see lots of Manta Rays and Whale Sharks!!

Money permitting, I think we’ll try and do the Maldives in Summer or Christmas/New Year 2011. Would like to do 1 week hotel + 1 week liveaboard, but think that will probably be too much money, as it will probably have to be tailor made and at the moment we’ve mainly been looking at Thomas Cook as they’ve been that much cheaper.

After looking at a lot of other travel companies most of them had accommodation but no flights for the dates I wanted. For the flights and an all inclusive package it’s costing me £1600 with Virgin holidays plus I received some extra air miles which added to what I already had allows me to fly economy with Virgin to New York and back for free.

So I just have the diving to pay for and some tips money it never harms to tip the barman on the first night   I did think about a Maldives liveaboard but they were asking too much hopefully I will see lots of marine life as last time I went there I did my open water so was more interested in trying to not suck my tank dry as fast as possible

Dive gear, camera and housing. shorts and t shirts all packed waiting to go.
