I read an interesting article in the Dive magazine about a father who dives in the UK with his 13yr old daughter. She is a fairly new diver and he wrote about her enthusiasm about what she had seen and how it made him realise that after years of great diving, he had become ‘a little jaded.’ More importantly he realised that although the generation gap was growing, diving together gave them common ground and formed deep bonds. Sadly he wrote that the downside was that she could not share what she sees with her peers, as they cannot relate to her diving experiences and as a result she has less in common with them.
Does anyone else have children that dive and if so do you think your children have the same problem?
Next generation of divers. |
