Now I know that we guys always go down for long time but be honest have any of you gone diving with a lady as your buddy and actually surfaced with more air left than her. And buddy breathing from her octopus to stay down does not count

its not easy if they are of a similar experience level.

when i dive everyday as a guide or instructor its not unusual to get out with more air than most but then you end up taking a smaller cylinder anyway .

One of my dive buddies is female, a qualified instructor and a vastly more experienced diver than I. I usually swap my 12 ltr cylinder for her 15 ltr. If we both then start a dive with the same cylinder pressure, by the end of the dive I would be at about 50 bar and she would be at about 120+ bar. That is why I’m known as an air pig............amongst other things.

Well .....whilst diving with Shaun at Porthkerris, i did surface with twice the amount of air than him....his excuse was that because he had lost his fin (which he dropped in the sea whilst helping me put mine on! ) it was harder work for him! ( he lead the dive and we were going round in circles! )

I’m sure you must have swapped your tank half way or were pinching my air   it was a 64 min dive though so I don’t feel too bad about it

As for losing my fin in my defence well ok I have no defence must have been distracted by you in rubber
