London International Dive Show (LIDS) March 27th/28th March 2010.
For anyone who is thinking of an overnight stay then I am happy to arrange a group evening meal and get together at a London restaurant. Any ideas suggestions/comments welcome. Cheers- Ray (new member) .
For those looking for a good value and convenient hotelfor the show the Travelodge is across the dock from where the Excel centre is. Access to Excel is via the London Docklands underground. A day underground pass is a good idea (rather than using an “Oyster card").

I will certainly be going to the London show for both days to help out Dawn and Sue at the stand and look forward to meeting as many of the sites members as possible it would be great to have a get together and have a drink or meal. I stayed at the Travel lodge last year it was very convenient.

incidentally Shaun, can’t believe how big the forums got all of a sudden, only turned my back for a minute (well maybe a week or 2, long enough to pick up THE dry suit, today actually ), and POW, too many threads to get through............

meet you. What suit you got, membrane or neoprene?
Like the former personally .. Tilly seals go then enjoy that sudden rush of really cold wetness , mmm what fun!
Don’t forget to do the zip up fully, bad mistake, it’s a learning thing eh!
You coming to the meal then? Should be a nice party atmosphere!!

Have got a membrane suit, having watched my buddies carefully last year with drysuits I had a very good idea of what I did and didnt want in my suit! experienced that first strange squeezed feel when I tried it on today! v. weird!!

Count me in Dawn, definately, with a possible + 1 (my sister) for a meet up / drink, whatever, doubt I will stay up there but will be good to meet up and put names to faces etc.  May put feelers out to my dive club buddies too so an open invite for a drinking venue first would maybe be easier?? (the more the merrier??) Am assuming this is post Saturday show......?? Let me know what people think, I don’t want to run away with myself, so to speak!

we will sort a venue to meet for drinks and also for those who want to stay on for a meal. maybe you could get some of your dive buddies to join the site? The more the merrier!! We seem to be gaining quite a few new members now!

Have been putting the word around, will have to collect some fliers from LIDs to subtly leave lying around!!  What time does the show tend to finish? (usually been and gone by lunchtime previously!)

Yep, I will be going and would be happy to meet up with other members after the show on Sat.

i’ll be interested in meeting up with you guys and girls. i’ll probably get a hotel down there somewhere. maybe we can get a grp hotel discount if anybody knows of a convenient hotel. i know a few have been mentioned then it will make it easier to firnd a restaurant if we are all staying near eache other.

I hope to be at LIDS on the Saturday… But its also The Outdoor Show that weekend… so London one day and Brum the next… and some how I have let my friend talk me into doing the fun run at the Oudoor Show (think its the Sunday) so whatever day thats on I hope to get to LIDS the next!

Will see you there. I have a room booked at the Crowne Plaza - Docklands not cheap but thought I would have a bit of luxury for a change and im worth it and its staggering distance from Excel.

I stayed at the Travel Lodge last year but there are a few more hotels near by.

Once we know how many want to go out for a meal we can sort out where to go it will be a great weekend and night out.
