London International Dive Show (LIDS) March 27th/28th March 2010.

For anyone who is thinking of an overnight stay then I am happy to arrange a group evening meal and get together at a London restaurant (just post here and I’ll get back to you). Any ideas suggestions/comments welcome. Cheers- Ray (new member) grin .

Might be nice to have a get together for new (like moi) and older members alike to meet up and get to know each other?

For those looking for a good value and convenient hotel for the show the Travelodge is across the dock from where the Excel centre is. Access to Excel is via the London Docklands underground. A day underground pass is a good idea (rather than using an “Oyster card"). If you book early rooms for 3 adults are from £29 !

Anyone interested in diving down here in Guernsey during the summer, let me know and I’ll get back to you. Sark is the Jewel in the crown as regards local diving and viz can be almost like the med in the summer months. Key Sark into google and take a peek. The cave is particularly impressive with brightly coloured jewel anenomies lining the cave walls...AWESOME! Great place for photography.

well i for one am up for a meet up...a meal sounds like a good idea! (drink too?).... . So far that makes two of us! Come on folks who is up for a great night out ......what’s the saying.....prior preparation and planning prevents p..s poor performance…

My thoughts are towards one of the bigger chain of restauarnts in central London with apres dinner drinks prior. Dependant on numbers of course but there is plenty of time to gain interest hence my posting well in advance. Set menu type of thing so all know what’s involved both culinary and price wise. There are quite a few credit crunching offers being touted by some of the larger chains (which feature in the centre) to tempt punters in for meals. Docklands area is a possibility or course but the tube link is pretty fast into the city and around Excel can be a bit dead and lacking atmosphere of an evening when most have retreated home or to their hotels. The old pubs in London are a big draw as well. !(Hic)
Open to any suggestions and see what the concensus is.
