A group of divers called the Glouster Divers including myself dive from West-Bay every month from March threw to November.This boat crew are one of the best I have dived with .In Lyme Bay there are ships and subs to explore and also the scallop’s are amazing.Give them a try.

Hi Shaun,

I went diving with Newhaven Divers http://www.newhavendivers.co.uk on Sunday and I have to say they were fantastic.

The rib was big (7m) with vast amounts of space to kit up, especially considering there was only 5 of us on the boat.  The weather wasn’t fantastic but the boat coped with it amazingly well and made 5.5 miles seem like a very short journey!

We booked the day only a week in advance and were amazed to find that they had spaces. Apparently they very often have spaces on the weekends- so definitely worth trying them if you fancy booking something last minute. Was very reasonably priced for the dives too.

Been based very close and operating in conjunction with Newhaven Scuba Centre it was really easy to get air fills between dives, repair broken kit and also there was a nice little cafe which didn’t mind us sitting around in dry suits.

Would definitely recommend them for a good sit on the South East coast.

The visibility was rather much worse than in the photos on that link though!

The wreck seemed to have quite a bit of structure including a large boiler- filled with many crabs. Bib seem to coat the wreck in huge shoals and there was more mussels attached to the wreck than I’ve seen on any other wreck.

In the afternoon we tried a drift dive just under the second (of the Seven) Sisters. Wasn’t a vast amount of current and this led to pretty poor visibility (between about 10-40 cm) but there were plenty of sponges, crabs and lobsters down there, as well as a pipefish, which are always very cool to see underwater!
