Hi all I was thinking about the different types of diving insurance and I was hoping that you guys might have some in sites to share! I’ve looked at DAN and I was wondering if that the way to go? I kind of started to go blind reading there web page anyway I got the fact that they cover you in case of an emergency but what about general cover for gear???

Hello! 

I actually work for a dive insurance place called Scubasure - its what has sparked my interest in diving!  Scubasure do specialist dive insurance (single trip or annual) so you are covered for all sorts with our travel policy including medical, luggage and up to £750 worth of kit (£300 max cost per item). 

We also do seperate annual dive kit insurance (if you need it) which covers your kit whilst at home, in use and in transit - this starts as little as £42 per year.  Check out the website at http://www.scubasure.com or give me a shout at if you need more specific advice that is not covered on the site.  From what I know the DAN cover is fairly basic.  Hope that has helped.

Ha, ha!!  Glad to be of service.....I’m Miss August!  You should buy the calendar!  Its useful (includes useful dates for divers courtesy of Oonas divers, phases of the moon and plenty of space to write your trips in), has 12 stunning girls AND is raising some money for charity!  I worked really hard on it and have been trying to get word round so take a look and see what you think!!  If you like it spread the word!!

I’m off to sunny Cornwall for a week, I’ve got a weekend at the Porthkerris dive school planned with some friends then of to the divefest!!!!

I am very lucky just not in love.

I am sure your diving in Cornwall will be good there is plenty to see and you will have a great time in and out of the water.

I think my camping out days are long gone unless I have a few vodkas first that is, but will have to wait and see if I can beg borrow or steal a room somewhere. I am looking forward to it though should be a laugh plenty of fun and beer oh and I forgot some diving as long as it does not get in the way of socialising that is

if you are still looking for dive insurance i will suggest buddy @ http://www.buddyindepth.co.uk i have been with them for about 4 years i had one claim for dives i could not take due to ear infection and had paid in advance for them i claimed when i got home for medical treatment and the price of the dives and drugs ect they paid up quickly no problems .on my policy i am also covered for the uk as well as my kit up to £750 per single item

Hi Shaun! Well I’ll have to be camping I haven’t got the cash to flash for a room lol, there’s always room for friends if you can’t get a room I have a 6 man tent, but if you do and there’s room for one more on the floor then the more money I can save the more I’ll have to spend at the bar!!! Opps I meen on diving lmao

A six man tent so no women well that’s definitely a no no then

I will let you know what my plans are as soon as I know after I pay for my holiday I might not have enough for even a tent, still it will not be the first time I have slept on a beach and it will be warm. We do need plenty of cash for liquid refreshment after a hard day in the water.
