We had a great dive for European Fish Week last month, and had fun posing underwater with the banner! After the dive we enjoyed a buffet and watched the disturbing End of the Line documentary.
The petition is still live and more signatures are needed. Please sign to help place the environment and sustainability at the top of the Common Fisheries Policy reform: http://www.ocean2012.eu/petition
Kenna Eco Diving’s next awareness raising activity is a Project Aware Beach Cleanup with the children from Kids United Summer School on 22 July in L’Escala. Last year the children spent a week learning about marine conservation issues and the effects of discarded rubbish on marine life. They were very enthusiastic and eagle-eyed in carrying out the cleanup activity, collecting 9 kg from two neglected beaches.
Volunteer divers are welcome to come and join us for a diving holiday in this abundant area of the Costa Brava, which has now received protected status, to assist with Species Data Collection at the SILMAR Project transect and take part in Underwater Cleanup activity.
