Hi well I am new to diving… My interest in diving came about after a holiday to Egypt in August 2007 where I snorkelled at Tiran Island, Ras Mohammed and The Blue Hole at Dahab all the while I was seeing divers below me and their bubbles coming up towards me… I had this screaming urge to be where they were, so several months later at The Outdoor Show at the NEC in March 2008 I signed up to do my Padi Open Water. I past my Padi Open Water in May 2008 doing my OW dives at Dosthill Quarry near Tamworth, completed my first dive and there was the air ambulance called out to someone else from another group/ centre who had, had some sort of issue at 18mtrs. Not put off I completed the OW (ironically 1 year this weekend just gone 17th/18th May) filled with excitement and enthusiasm however daving got halted due to family issues. Then the perfect kickstart opportunity arose in Divefest came about and i signed up for it with the centre I did my OW at. In April prior to Divefest I completed my Scuba Review and headed off to Divefest on 14th May to Cornwall and despite the fact that all diving was called off due to weather… i’m still eager to get in and complete my first of i’m sure many sea dives. I’m hoping to get away for the mid to end of August period somewhere to gain some warmer dives and spend my 33rd birthday!

My next step is to gain my Dry Suit Speciality… and go onwards and upwards from there.
