A review of a good mid-range DC!
I’ve been using a Mares Nemo Sport for almost two years and I’m pleased to report that it has stood the test of time and my lifestyle!
In photos, this DC has a heavy, clumpy look but this is an illusion. The casing is actually made from thermoplastic which is feather-light! Device has all the features you would expect including :
Mares RGBM Sport Deep Stops Algorithm reduces risks related to the formation of micro-bubbles
Deep stops (decompression stops at greater depths) for safer dives
Safety stop
Air and Nitrox dive modes
Watch menu with alarm clock function and dual time zones
Recessed, mineral glass shock-proof, tempered, and non-reflective for better readability in a variety of diving conditions
Max operating depth 99.9mtrs (328ft)
Memory capacity 30 dives
Profile sampling rates 15 or 30seconds
I wear mine for everyday use and the alarms come in pretty handy. The sporty wrist strap feels well solid and strong. The buttons are very easy to operate once you get used to them.
Comes in two case colours - light and dark. Now the bits I don’t like!
If I were to buy the DC again, I would get the dark case version. Having the light face, it shows every bump and chip badly. Other pain is the Ascent Warning with is super conservative! It nags like my old auntie, every time you change depth with long series of bleeps. Fortunately this can be turned off.
On balance I really like this DC/watch which retails for about £250. Shop around on the Net and you will see deals to about £170. If you got some extra cash, get the Mares Nemo Excel!

I cannot possibly do a dive without the Ascent warning going off on my Nemo sport, it is an absolute pain and as such just gets ignored. Pep if you have a manual it tells you how, if not go to the Mares home page you can download a manual there.
It is something like pressing the 2 buttons on the right similtaneously for 15 secs whilst in plan mode, another tip is to wear it on the right hand because it is that sensitive it can go off when you raise the deflator to dump air, yes it really does. I have an integrated digital bottom timer on my SPG which has an ascent warning on its 20 dive memory log it shows 1 warning. On the same 20 dives my Nemo sport shows an ascent warning on every single dive
Comstive why wear for everyday use !!, unless of course you are a dive guide. Buy a watch far more appropriate

£250 for a daily watch?! you can get far nicer pieces for half the price if you just take them off when you have a bath!
