This is a good shore dive with an easy entry Sandy bottom and plenty of fish including Grouper, trumpet fish, rays, barracuda to name but a few!

Playa Chica, Puerto Del Carman, Lanzarote, Canary Islands


During the week I did my open water diver training with Native Dive here at Playa Chica, Puerto del Carmen I got the chance to enjoy this trully great location! Although I did spend my most of my time doing my training I did see all that this great shore dive had to offer. On my first dive we entered the water from the beach side of the jetty which is a gental sloping beach with easy access! Once under the surface there are multitudes of fish to many to count and I’m not even going to try to name them lol

The bottom gently slopes away from the shore then drops of to a depth of 12 meters in the bay and finally shelves out to a depth of 18 to 24 meters once you pass the end of the headland! On later dives we entered the water from the jetty side on the right, here the water on entry is aproxamatley 4 meters and drops away to a max of 18 meters in this side of the bay again shelving out to a depth of 24 meters before the drop off!

The water here is crystal clear ( viz 20m) Warm and full of sea life! Trully a great dive for all level dives
