Nice inland site
Vivian dive centre
Vivian is one of the only inland dive centres in North Wales and is a old slate quarry located in the Snowdonia National Park near the village of Llanberis.
The quarry itself is about 120mts by 50mts and has a maximum depth of about 18mts
Depending on how much it has rained. Air fills up to 300 BAR are available. There is also a buddy list if you need someone to dive with.
Vivian is a nice safe place to go diving. You might see trout (I’ve seen 1)or common eels (I’ve seen a couple) also you have two boats to look at, a old blast hut which has a small swim through and has a gnome garden on top. Against the quarry wall is a house which is blocked off. Most of the quarry is deep but a 6mts platform is available for training and a number of courses are available.
I always use Vivian to try out new gear and it’s great if you have not dive for sometime as it’s nice and safe.
You will have to pay £5 for life membership and £5 for your days diving but you can do 3 dives. Private changing rooms are available and toilets. A local café offers hot food and drinks in the summer so bring your own in the winter.
